Marilyn Monroe commission

This was a commission I completed for a relative who have been a life-long fan of Marilyn Monroe.

The fields in the background symbolize her favourite colours: red, black, tan and white, the circular shape also symbolizes the car she bought for her first studio-gig.

I also wanted to portray a little bit of a different Marilyn, someone that the media did not always sell to the audience - a Marilyn with a bigger sense of confidence, and more privately dressed, less of the pin-up doll, which was the usual role she played.
